The Hope Shoppe

We are happy to announce that Safe Futures’ donation center, The Hope Shoppe, has reopened as of January 14, 2025 for general donations after our successful “Adopt a Family Holiday Program.” The Hope Shoppe will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 10:00AM to 2:00PM for donation drop-off of seasonal donation clothing and houseware items. It is strongly recommended to schedule an appointment for donation drop-off with Darlene Hilbert at (860)447-0366 Ext 221 or by emailing [email protected]. Due to limited space in the basement area for storage of excess items, we encourage seasonal clothing and items of two bags per appointment.
We are grateful for your ongoing support to our clients, who often must leave their homes with minimal belongings for safety purposes. Safe Futures serves all domestic violence survivors and their children and families without regard to age, gender, race, color, gender identity, ancestry, intellectual disability, health or physical disability and ethnicity, including their pets.
If, in the event we are unable to share all the donated items with our Safe Futures clients by the end of a season, we may donate excess items to The Jumble Shop in New London as their pricing is minimal, they run regular specials for the public. Safe Futures has no affiliation with The Jumble Shop.
Safe Futures is a member of the Connecticut Coalition against Domestic Violence (CCADV). Safe Futures serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, trafficking, elder abuse and child abuse in Southeastern Connecticut.

About The Hope Shoppe: In November 2024, Safe Futures rolled out a new name and design of our donation center that has been operating at Safe Futures in New London for over 40 years! Our dedicated staff submitted numerous name suggestions describing what our donation center means to them, the community, and most importantly to the victims and survivors of abuse that we serve.
Nearly every name submission included the word “hope” which is why with much consideration, we are happy to announce the new name: The Hope Shoppe. The Hope Shoppe remains true to our mission serving clients of Safe Futures impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, trafficking, child abuse and elder abuse in southeastern Connecticut.
